Leeann Figueroa

I have worked on multiple award winning podcasts during both my undergraduate and graduate career at the University of Central Florida. The Unheard Society focuses on uplifting the voices of the incarcerated in Central Florida, and I was lucky enough to be on the production team as an undergrad. This podcast was recognized with an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association in 2024. 

 Echoes from the Deep is a podcast focused on a critically endangered species, the Rice's whale, and highlights the challenges faced by the species and Gulf Coast communities. It recently won Best Radio Climate/Environmental Reporting from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. I helped produce and fully edited all 8 episodes. Recently, season two of the The Gulf Uncovered released, The Gulf at Knight, and I acted as producer, editor and videographer for all 7 episodes. The second season is a visual podcast, so feel free to both watch and listen!
